In Sarentino/Sarnthein, the annual village fair known as Sarner Kirchtag takes place every year on the first Sunday in September – a tradition upheld since 1453. It’s an authentic custom without kitsch and artificial folklore. Much like wearing traditional clothing is still part of daily life in the villages of the Val Sarentino/Sarntal valley. And just like Haflingers are a key feature of the annual Kirchtag parade: intrinsically linked.
