Due to the Covid pandemic, this year's Italian National Selection of Haflinger Colts and traditional Stallion Parade on 06 February had to be held without a live audience – or at least the part that took place in Egna/Neumarkt: While many breeders regretted not being able to physically attend the event at the Alps Coliseum Equestrian Sports Centre, many tuned in to watch the live broadcast.
A total of 18 colts were presented for evaluation – all of them quite diverse in terms of genetics and characteristics that are typical for the Haflinger breed. Five of them were awarded the coveted highest class of breeding value.
Georg Oberkofler’s ADLERFELS II HU-B BZ29648 was crowned colt of the year and Nicola Metzger’s WILLIAM-B BZ29644 was selected as runner-up. They both come from San Genesio/Jenesien.
