Review of a successful year
On Saturday, 11 April 2026, the annual general assembly of the Provincial Federation of South Tyrol Haflinger Horse Breeders took place in the Raiffeisen Hall in Terlano/Terlan, attended by numerous members and guests of honour from the worlds of politics and business.
Federation Chairman Manfred Canins, Provincial Breeding Commission Chairman Alexander Rier and Noriker breeders’ representative Edith Obexer looked back on an intense yet highly successful year. Their reports highlighted just how varied and dedicated the Federation’s activities had been over the past year. The presentations were supplemented by Christoph Zöggeler, Chairman of the South Tyrol Haflinger Sports Association, and Markus Egger, Vice-Chairman of the South Tyrol Young Haflinger and Noriker Breeders' Association. They provided insights into the activities of their organisations and highlighted the excellent cooperation with the Federation.
The fact that there is a positive atmosphere and constructive cooperation within the breeding organisation between Haflinger and Noriker breeders, young and old, and those involved in breeding and sport, is demonstrated not only by the rising numbers of horses and members – the guests of honour present also gained this impression and paid tribute to the members and the Federation’s leadership.
