High levels of quality throughout the entire 2022 class of mares
For three consecutive days, the Alps Coliseum Equestrian Sports Centre in Egna/Neumarkt was entirely dedicated to the latest generation of Haflinger and Noriker mares. Beautifully groomed and impeccably prepared, a total of 175 horses (157 Haflinger and 18 Noriker mares) were presented for registration in the stud book. An impressive event – smoothly organised, attended by a large audience and brimming with excitement and atmosphere.
What stood out in particular is the great passion with which more and more young people dedicate themselves to breeding – and the impressive number of genuinely high-class horses bred and reared in South Tyrol. This enormous enthusiasm for local horse breeds, strikingly evident among so many attendees of the Haflinger Festival in Sluderno/Schluderns about a year ago, was also palpable at this year’s studbook registration in Egna/Neumarkt.
Breeders from all over the region can celebrate their successes together, and the fact that the entire mare cohort can be presented and assessed in one place under the same consistent, standardised conditions is unique. The Haflinger experts at the Italian national organisation ANACRHAI deserve great praise for their meticulous work.
