The South Tyrolean Haflinger and Noriker foals are still enjoying a carefree summer with their dams on the high alpine pastures, before they are presented for the first time at the foal appraisal in September – an important milestone in the young horses’ lives and the foundation for their future in breeding.

24^th South Tyrol Foal Championship with Auction

A highlight of the breeding year is the 24^th South Tyrol Foal Championship, which will take place immediately following the appraisal of foals on Saturday 3 October at the Alps Coliseum Equestrian Centre in Egna/Neumarkt. The foals for the Championship are selected during the appraisal of foals.

Participation in the Championship is highly sought-after amongst South Tyrolean breeders; selected foals belonging to Federation members from other Italian regions are also eligible to take part.

As part of the Championship, the hybrid Foal Auction offers the opportunity to purchase promising young horses. Foals from the Championship, as well as selected fillies, will be available for sale. Registration for the auction takes place on the day of the respective appraisal of foals.
