The last few weeks have seen the latest generation of Haflinger foals being registered throughout the different breeding areas, with the most beautiful ones selected for the annual Foal Championships. And then, on the first Saturday in October, it was finally time for the big day: 56 out of the 82 approved foals had been signed up for the show – 48 of which were ultimately presented to the judges, who attested their very high quality and excellent state with regard to husbandry and health. “The breeders have every right to be proud of their achievements, because South Tyrolean Haflinger breeding is of outstanding quality”, as Andrea Sgambati of the South Tyrolean Technical Commission summarised.
