With the appraisal of foals at the beginning of September, the new breeding year has entered into an intensive and promising new stage. Following a long-standing tradition, it started on 04 September in Val Sarentino/Sarntal. The last branding appointment will be on 02 October in San Genesio/Jenesien. The proceedings will take place in the usual form. The owners are asked to bring along the mare's passport and the foal's birth registration certificate. At the event - the foals will be branded and examined before they are enlisted in the foal register - the horses' passports will be issued and handed to the owner 2010 branding calendar

14th Italian National Selection of Haflinger Colts (2010)
On the second October weekend, from Friday 8 to Sunday 10, Italy's new generation of Haflinger colts will once again attract international attention. Over two days about 60 horses will be examined by experts for the Haflinger breed and put under the microscope.
The selection is severe, especially for stallions: The aim is to use only the best horses for breeding. Since the focus in Italian breeding has in recent years been put increasingly on good movements, all presented horses must meet high demands. The colt selection in Merano/Meran is sure to be another great occasion for Haflinger breeders from all over Europe to meet.
